“A new technique for washing artworks on paper”
A talk by Nicholas Burnett
Tuesday, 17th March 2015, 6:30pm (doors open 6:00pm) – The Grand Robing Room at Freemasons’ Hall, 60 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5AZ
Immersion washing of multi-layered papers including Chine-collé prints, pasteboards eg. Bristol Board, lined papers and photographs, such as Blanquart-Evrard prints, can produce unwanted side effects such as bubbling, blistering, partial separation and delamination. The lecture will describe new washing techniques that minimise such unwanted side effects.
